How to make your own LSA (Linseed Sunflower Almond) Mix

LSA stands for Linseed Sunflower Almond – three seeds or nuts that are ground up separately and then mixed together. The proportions are 3:2:1 e.g. Linseed 500g, Sunflower 250g and Almonds 125g. The ground seeds and nuts are combined to make a super healthy addition to all sorts of meals like morning porridge or on top of avocado toast. Works well as a thickener as the flax seeds turn to a gel-like consistency.

You can use these proportions as a base and add in any other nuts or seeds you may like. Options include chopped walnuts, pumpkin seeds chia seeds, hemp seeds and sesame seeds.

We’ve been using LSA or a variation for years since back in the day of the Liver Cleaning Diet by Sandra Cabot. There’s always some little gem that you carry around from what you read or discovered in the past.
